Variety – The Secret To Proficiency
The wise ones say that variety is the very spice of life. But variety is also the law of nature. Isn’t it for all of us to see that variety is the principle on which the entire universe thrives? Thus incorporating variations in our yoga routine is also beneficial.
Variations in yogic postures can mean two things:
- *Different methods of doing a particular posture
- *Different ways of arriving at a particular posture
The next obvious question is – how can variety in yogic postures help?
It has been proven that monotony deters growth. On the other hand, variety gives the brain something new to process thereby improving its function. When the body performs a regular posture differently, the brain is forced to think differently leading to the creation of new neural pathways in the brain. This translates to enhanced cognitive ability.
So don’t be surprised when you start to think out of the box and find innovative solutions to your problems. All this, just by switching up your yoga routine a little.
